Is it possible to have two boards with phpnuke 7.4? - 02-28-2005, 06:11 PM

I did a search and found nothing on this subject.

Is it possible to have two boards with phpnuke 7.4? I already have one that I am using. The board I am using has news stories and articles. What I am facing is the members would like to have their own board to post.

If it is possible to have two boards and can the second board be integrated with the database? Or will the members have to re-register with the new one? Will the new board automatically have the same theme as the 'old' board (as the rest of the site)? And let's say if I decide to change themes will the second board automatically have the new theme also?

Thanks in Advance,
Bunny

Yes you can, just create a new database over your old one, but you must change the prefix ie: if you use nuke already as a prefix make this one nuke2 or something like that, the next part (optional) is to remove "nuke2_users" and nuke2_users_temp so when you configure your new config file it will look something like this :

$dbhost = "localhost";
$dbuname = "same_setting_ as_old_one";
$dbpass = "same_setting_as_old_one";
$dbname = "same_setting_as_old_one";
$prefix = "nuke2";
$user_prefix = "nuke"; (which will use your older users list & any new members that join either site)
