Sending mass emails to over 10,000 people

I have 11344 registered users for my phpnuke and unlimited bandwith. I see my website dieng very slowly. People don't visit anymore... I really want to know if there's any way to mass email all my members. I know of the newsletter option... but I want to know one thing before I try to do that... Does the mass-email sent 50 out at a time? or would it crash the server I'm using? I mean if i do send a mass email, will it be O.K?

as far as I know bro if you sending mass email from your site it self... I dont think it efects it in anyways it gives u option if u want2 send email to subscribe ussers ( I.E people that want2 resive news letter or mass email to all the registerd members to your site ) I sent few mass emails from my site, I do have only 640 registerd members but it did not efect my site or its bandwith,, 8O I let sumone with More experiance answear this question :roll: Peace Boris

11344 members? I am guessing the server will timeout trying to send that many emails. If I were in your shoes, I'd give it a shot. The worst thing that could happen is you could cause a server load...wouldn't be the first time in the history of webhosts.

I have seen this very subject discussed before and I do believe there is a Module/hack out there that allows you to send out email in blocks of 100 members or so at a time in order to keep the server load down.

You'll have to search around for that info.

Also, edit you first post and give your topic a better title that will help others searching for similar problem.

"Sending mass email to over 100 members" would be a good title.

O.K. Everyone here's the deal: What phpnuke does, (this is only speculation) it sends 50 emails out at a time. Since I was the first member, I was the first to receive the email. I have to wait a couple of minutes after pressing the button untill all emails are sent. So it is SAFE for phpnuke to send a mass email to 10,000+ people.
