Having a minor issue creating a module - 12-30-2005, 01:24 PM

I am in the process of creating a module that will show up on the left hand side under modules that will be a direct link to another page of mine on another site. Sort of a stat tracker page.

I am using PHP NUKE 7.7 and am completly new at creating these. I noticed that there is a module creator on the page also a block creator but once again, I have no idea what needs to go in there.

Is there a generic formula that could get me started ? I dont even mind if it opens in another page or if it opens in the main page.

Thank you for your assistance, I await any feedback I can get.

Happy New Year!

No one able to help a newbie with the module section ?

Take for example the PHP-Nuke_Tools module on the left hand side. I need to be able to create something such as this that would just link someone to another page.

Thank you in advance

Why create a module when you can just add a link inside of an existing module such as this one:

It'll work d00d. I'm already using it here: http://www.gamemoviemaking.com/index.php

If you look down the "Quick Navigation: module on the left of the page, you will see an area called "Network Websites". All of those links were added manually in the modules admin.

Just keep in mind that the module is actually in French so you'll have to manually change some of the module names in the admin area.

Love the mod .. 2 questions though

How do i get rid of this ?

Also, Im trying to have a live chat thru sigma chat on my webpage, and ive seen some webpages that have it such as

http://www.amend-eq2.com/ If you click their chat button it opens up in their page.. I can not for the life of me figure this out.

** Edit .. nm changed the php file name from chat.php to index.php and the chat works .. now its just pondering the top picture question

As always any help I can get would be greatly appreciated, Youve already done so much for me.

Thank you again.

Since the sommaire is actually a block, you have to go to the block admin panel to change its name:

- login as admin "http://www.yoursitename.com/admin.php
- click on Blocks
- find the title that says "sommaire"
- change the title only (do not change filename)
- save block

...and there you have it.

No problem man, glad it worked out for ya.

I really like that block and encourage anyone who wants a configurable "Modules" block to give it a try.
