Admin User Permissions not letting me set myself as Admin
Any idea why, when I'm in the User Permissions Control section, and I set my user level to Administrator, it never keeps? I can set myself up as a moderator, thats easy, but not as an administrator. I noticed this because of the Who Is Online table showing me as a moderator and not Admin. So I go back to the User Permissions Control and it's reset itself back to User
Also, fyi, I do not have any usergroups created at this time. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I don't think so.

Because you ALREADY are the Administrator. At least phpBB is reading you from the Database as an Administrator.
All you could do is add yourself to a usergroup called Administrators.

Well, I knew technically I am already the admin, but it would be nice if the forum actually showed it, instad of being a moderator.

Talk about a crazy bump
Anyway, I have the exact same problem on one of my sites, and not on the other...it wasn't like this to start off so it may be something I've changed.
Basically, from the admin control panel, I click on User Admin--> Permissions. I type in my user name and submit. There is a drop box 'User Level: User'. This says Administrator on my other site, which changes the color of my name on the forum index, and adds the link to go to the admin panel. For the life of me, I can not manage to change this value.
Does anyone know the location of this data in the sql database? Or perhaps what I might have done to cause this?

Have you logged in when you created the site as "God Admin" then added your username to the Super User list with all site options enabled?
If not, that should be your first step.

I have done so yes, and I confirmed that just now. When I make the change from 'user' to 'administrator' and click submit, the page changes and it says
'Information
Permissions have been updated
Click Here to return to User Permissions
Click Here to return to the Admin Index'
but when I return to that page, it's still the same, nothing changed. It seems like it's just not trying or not able to update the database, but I cant find the location of that info in the database.

When I do the same thing on my other site, running the same version of PHPNuke, the value changes whenever I do it. I'm still digging to find that field in one of the tables, I went to a backup database but this issue was there as well, I would like to avoid starting over heh.
