Block Problems - 12-30-2002, 09:18 AM

I installed the userinfo block from here, and it shows up like this:

_UMBMEMP:
_UMBLATEST:
homicidal_puppy
_UMBOVER: 4

_UMBON[1]:
_UMBVIS: 0
_UMBMEM: 1
1: Dan Cook

I put the contents of the readme file in the lang-english like it said to, but it's still not working right. Help! 8O

you need to either:

A) install the language files it gave you

B) re-upload the language files because they uploaded incorrectly.

im not sure what the case is on the user info block, but many times mods will include a file called lang-english.txt . this means you must open the .txt file and copy the language components into the lang-english.php that it specifies.

for example: you download the mod package and it has its directory already set up so that all you need to do is select all and upload. say there is a lang-english.txt in your download package, and its path is admin/language/lang-english.txt . you must open admin/language/lang-english.php and copy the components from the .txt file to the .php file, then reupload.

yeah i went in depth on this one but that way this can be am FAQ for future problems

The block I downloaded had 2 files, the php block and a readme file. The readme said to copy/paste lines into the lang-english.php file, which I did. I've reuploaded it several times, which doesn't fix it.

Try placing the language files into the modules/forums/language/language-english.php file. I did and it works for me.

Groovy!! I think the instructions need to be upgraded to include the location of the language dir. People just assume it's the main nuke language directory if nothing else is mentioned.

I had the same thing happen to me, but I installed the user block before installing the forum register hack. After I installed the hack, I had to re-add the files back to the lang-english.php then it worked fine, I only added them back main Nuke lang dir, not the forum one. Now it's fine
