block resources and a couple newb questions
I hope this is the right forum for this

I'm pretty new to the whole nuke thing and I'm still a little lost in general.

My NWN modules have been funded thus far by player donations via paypal. Is there a paypal block I can download and add to my site?

Can I find the links block seen on this forum for download somewhere?

Whats the basic differences between add-ons, blocks, sections and modules? ops:

Can I add blocks/modules from nomral php-nuke sites that aren't for ported phpbb2 nukes?

What are some good download sites for modules/blocks?

On your personal page, there is the drop-down box listing different websites to get news from. Is there a way to add to or delete the websites listed?

Sorry for all the questions. If you can answer any of em I'd appreciate the help.

This site is one I usually check daily. (Requires registration)
http://warpspeed.4thdimension.de/index.php
(You might want to choose English language on the main page)
A lot of new scripts for php-nuke go there as soon as they are released.

Many of your questions and the ones you havn't asked yet can be answered by searching in the forums on this site. Not trying to be rude, but that is why the forums are kept on the site.

I have seen a paypal donation block, You might want to try doing a search on www.anorscorner.com

block, is exactly that a block that shows up on your page. A section is a seperate area that you send a user to, the forum you are using now is a module. Add-ons can be anything from a hack to a seperate program that you incorporate into your site.

As far as adding things from a regular Nuke site, I wouldn't until you know more. Some will work, and some wont. It's better if you learn how Nuke functions etc before you start adding a lot of other things.

You can change the sites that are listed in the news drop down, you have to directly modify one of the Nuke files to do it. Again I would suggest learning more about Nuke before you attempt to mod the files. You can disable that feature in you admin cp if you want to.

yes, normal nuke blocks work with the ported version.

let me explain the difference between blocks and modules.

a block is, as iaco said, a chunk of info on your main nuke site. there are tons availible for download at many sites.

a module is a whole sort of 'program' within the nuke directory. it has its own page(s) and contains much more data then a block. modules are also availible from many nuke sites.

think of the port as an 'addon' to the nuke site, so its only within nuke, it affects nothing in the nuke base.

I'd really like to modify this part if you could point me to the appropriate file to edit. I will back it up and take my chances!
