Challenging request! Can this be done? - 03-07-2003, 10:28 PM

Hello all you Nuke experts out there.

Here is my situation. I currently run Ikonboard as the forum on my nuke site. I have done this because the forums were well established before I converted my site to Nuke 6.0. I am using NukeWrap to port my forums.

Here is my question. I can convert my forums to a SQL database, is there any way to integrate my forums into my nuke site so when visitors create accounts on my Nuke site, everything will "blend" in to the forums, private messages, members, profiles....ect. Just like phpBB does. Or is this a mission impossible?

Is there anybody interested in playing with this?

well, its definitely not a 'mission: impossible' but it would take a decent amount of work and coding experience. would be interesting to see though.

btw, if im not mistaken, ikonboard has become invision.

would be interesting to get a team together to create one. id be willing to help, as i run invision at my site.

No Ikonboard is still Ikonboard (www.ikonboard.com) but the beta Ikonboard PHP, looks really close to invision.

Is invision compatable with Nuke? (members, PM's, accounts,, etc.)

If you aren't tottally in love with Ikonboard there is a converter for Ikonboard to phpbb 2.0. Then you would have to run the convertor for phpbb 2.0 to phpbbport and yea I am sure it wouldn't be a tottally smooth process. But you could have a nuke integrated forum much faster that way then waiting for someone to port ikonboard?

Just a thought.

I found a thread that discusses this here

Well im not totally in love with Ikonboard, but I didnt want to force the members to resign up or loose the posts.

Anyway, I did the conversion and it worked perfectly!! Thanks for the info,

Here is the problem I am now having, I have uploaded all my files for the phpbb to nuke conversion. When I go to my nuke admin, and click on forums i get this error:
Warning: Failed opening './../config.php' for inclusion (include_path='') in /home/sites/site144/web/site/modules/Forums/common.php on line 129

Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/sites/site144/web/site/modules/Forums/common.php:129) in /home/sites/site144/web/site/modules/Forums/common.php on line 133

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

You need to first chmod the forums folder to (I think) 777, someone correct me if I'm wrong, of if there is more involved with this particular case. :!:

Hello All,

Ok here is what I did,

I dont think I was logged on with both users, admin and my regular user.

When I did that I could continue the install. I dont know if that did it, but that seemed to work.

Thanks for the replies.

Dan
