Creating a new theme by copying it.
Okay ... running nuke 6.0 and tom's port 2.0.6. In the forums...

If I copy a theme, what *exactly* do I have to do to get it to show up in the "add" menu.

I copy the charcoal theme folder into a folder called "robert", did a global search and replace on the word "charcoal" in that folder and replaced it with "robert". That's all I did.

Now... I rebooted, cleared my cookies, etc. But... the name "robert" does not show up in the "add" theme option in the admin. menu. Why is this?

All I really want to do is take the charcoal theme and change it to a more "reddish" theme and tweak some of the graphics.

By the way... you people here to utterly unbievable work here. Kudos to you.

Hoping you can help me out...

.WF.

You are on the right track.

Make sure you do a thurough search and replace in ALL files in the theme as well as the template files for charcoal to robert.

Make sure you rename the actual template/charcoal and themes/charcoal folder.

You will also need to rename a couple of files in the template/charcoal folder
charcoal.css
charcoal.cfg
rename to
robert.css
robert.cfg

That's probobaly the problem...you haven't renamed those two files... 8)

*EXACTLY* what do you mean by that ... the copied template is in the same directory as the template it was copied from.

Where in "Nuke" am I supposed to add it?

You need to add the theme to /themes and you need to add it to modules/forums/templates

If you haven't added Robert to the template folder it wont show up in the forum admin cp under the Add section.

I changed every reference to the word "charcoal" in all files and filenames in the /forums/templates/ dir.

I also copied the "charcoal" theme in the /theme dir to "robert" as well.

Now... can't change the theme until you install the template... everyone knows that, or you get that ugly "theme doesn't match" message.

So... I still am at a loss here???

Er... if it showed up to add, I would surely add it. But it doesn't.

Does it show up in the add section under style admin now?

If it does add it, then check under config and set the theme, then go into preferences in Nuke admin and set the theme there.

Wildfire.

If you renamed thsoe two files I specified in my post, then the template part sould now show under you Add section in Forum Admin.

If it does not, then there may be a conflict between it and the original charcoal theme you have.

Try changing to ANOTHER theme you currently have, then remove your original charcoal theme. Then see if the newly renamed theme to robert shows up.
