Downloaded the PHPNukeWebChat2 from
Release Version v2.00
Release Date 07/27/2002
Based on Daniel Thoma's (dt@dnt.ro) WebChat 0.6
and the PostNuke Adaption of David "Cyklone" Thompson
(david@thompsonville.net)

------------------------------

I gotta say that the install was very well written and gave security issues full comments but more than that it worked perfectly! - except for one thing when I went to actually use it I ended up with a MySQL error:
+++++++++++++
Database error: Invalid SQL: select name from nuke_chatuser where uid =
MySQL error: 1064 (You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 1)
Session halted.
+++++++++++++
I went to that saarport.net site - and it is in German... -:<
Anyone got any ideas here?

They have a done a new release of the chat, I believe they are now calling it sp chat. I noticed that there are some fixes to it already, so I'm guessing it's still in beta release.

You can download the new vs here There are a few different languages there, and also a fix for an emoticon problem.

Send a message via AIM to ReNeGaDe
usually that means the sql command was entered incorrectly. try giving the command manually, unless thats what you did. make sure all spaces at the beginning are removed and that the sql format is correct.

The only command I gave was the activation of the module when I uploaded it to the correct folders, then I went to the section in nuke and it ran the install program itself - I didn't touch any MySQL commands, so then it must be the install prog itself. DOH!

I will try to download the new SP version - maybe that works...
TY ALL !!!

Would you please let us know how it goes with the new one. My host will only allow a php based chat, the current one I'm using is a little buggy. Most of the others I've tried can't handle more tthen 5 or 6 people at the same time.

will do - just as soon as I get a fix for my outgoing mail.

Replies work but I can't compose now for some reason after I had the Slash theme blow me up. I had to fresh install and restore the database so I am running through all the moving parts to check them and found this problem.

Have you tried PH-Nuke Webchat? It's been in downloads here for a long time. I'm thing of trying it. Would it be better or faster than standard PM in nuke? I know a lot of times poeple at my site and at this site have asked if I have instant messenger to converse because PM is too slow for long conversations.

Martin,

I haven't tried it. I haven't given public access to Nuke and the forum yet. With the regular phpbb forum, I have Smartors chat installed, it integrates with the db, and is attached directly to the forum. It's fine if you only have a few people in the chat. I have meetings that often have a lot of users in them. It couldn't handle the load. I'm using phpopenchat for the time being, but I'd like to find one that integrates and can take the load.
