Forum registered user problem - 04-26-2003, 09:54 AM

I'm trying to set the forums up on http://www.shadowtroopers.com. I'm using nuke 6.0 and the phbb mod that I got with it. Also using the subBlack themes.

I was trying to set the permissions of the forums to only allow members to post. Now when I went to the forums, they don't show up for me! Then if I change the permissions to "public" they show up and allow me to post, but ask me to type in a username. I think this is a problem I had before, just can't remember how to fix it! Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you need more details, just let me know!

Thanks a bunch,
BabyJade

I would advise that since the site is new , that you do a clean install of nuke 6.5 instead of 6.0 ...as for the permissions , go to the forums permission section and change each forums permissions one by one in advanced mode, thats how I do it.

I am actually terrified to upgrade! The gallery I use is no longer updated and it took hours yesterday just to get it running! So far, this is the only major issue I've stumbled upon and if I can fix it, I'd much rather do that. If it is something more complicated, I may just do a full clean install. Also, I thought I would add:
If I change the permissions in advanced to allow public to view/read, then the forums show up, but when I hit "post reply" it sends me to the "Your Account" page. Almost like it's not recognizing that I'm a member. Ugh!

Thanks for the help.

That's what I did. I set it that way and then when myself (a registered user) clicked on the reply button, it sent me to the "Your Account" page.

LOL...tried that too. Then it wouldn't even show me any of the forums that were set to registered only.

have you applied any security fixes or anything to your nuke installation? I may have found a solution , download this patch and upload it to your server overwriting the original. Let me know if it works.
