How to import a modded phpBB?

Hi all,

I'm trying to import the database tables of my phpBB2.0.4
It's modded so the tables are different and can't be imported by using excisting import scripts.
Is there a way to import my forum with all users, posts and mods?

I'm currently using phpnuke 6.5
Hope someone can help me.

It will be impossible to import the tables laterally using the insert method in MySQL. To do it you should open the database back up file you created in a text editor and copy the tables insert script adding the appropriate missin values that are in the new 6.5 structure. What I did when I updated my forums from 6 to 6.5 I made a SQL back up file, opened it in Ultraedit and copied the INSERT statement and pasted them into my SQL query and ran it. If I had a table change all I did was add the new value to the insert statement and placed the column in as well.

Worked fine but was time consuming.

Thx for the quick reply.

Altering the values is a bit tricky but can be done, but the board's database prefix is phpbb_ and the prefix for nuke is nuke_bb, so i can't add the users. Isn't there a way to create a script that alters the phpbb prefix to that of phpnuke?

That way things would be a lot easier to do.

How about using the forum database backup and place that in the same database as nuke?
Create a link to the forum and voila.
Only problem would be the login and register part.

Any ideas?

There should be some convert scripts around (probally on http://www.nukecops.com) which will convert you phpbb db to nuke

make sure you make backups, and btw if you are editing this in a text editor don't change phpbb_users to nuke_bbusers but too nuke_users

(DO NOT overide the original nuke_users table

)

Thx, but things still don't work.
Now i'm going to try to use the phpbb tables and just link to my forum.

Is there a way to modify the login/register part of nuke so new users are logged in into nuke and phpbb at the same time?
I'd really like phpnuke to work but i need my excisting forum to work with it.
