So after the MAJOR crash and burn of yesterday, I'm working on getting everything put back in. What I need to know is can I install the forum registration hack before importing my exsisting forum db to the portal?

ADVICE to EVERYONE.

Never, I mean never install and mods, hacks addons or anything of that sort until you have a good version of Nuke and Forums up and running with no errors or problems.

Then start installing your hacks mods, whatever...checking after EACH one to make sure EVERYTHING still works. ALWAYS backup before you install ANY HACKS.

What to back up you ask?
Your Database...everytime...no matter what.
The files the hack affects. Backup the originals.

I really hope everyone understands that if you fail to backup and then have problems, the sympathy I feel will be minimal..BECAUSE, You were all warned!

Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment!

Nuke is in, bbport is in, themes are in, I have no errors. My users are still using the old phpbb board. I want to install what I can before giving access, that was the whole purpose yesterday of doing the installs.

btw.. I have backed it up every step of the way. Normally I do. I don't know what got into me yesterday. However lesson learned.

That is why I'm asking if I can install the reg hack before importing the db. I've had like 12 new users in the last 2 days or something, and I'm trying to make the transition as easily as possible. IF there is going to be a problem I would rather the problem happen now then when everyone is using it. I don't know how it will integrate with the scrpt to import the db, because I installed another hack yesterday without backing up before I tried to update it.

Am I making sense?

If I can I would like to leave the import as long as possible, because for some reason that script doesn't like to run twice. I don't want to lose anything.

ok go ahead...I guess..if you need my approval ...yur startin' to make me a little nervous now though..after the first incident...hehe...jst go for it..
