italics - 01-19-2003, 12:40 PM

Anyone got any idea how i can stop posts through the "submit news section" appearing on the site in italics. If its posted through an admin account its fine, news appears in normal text.

Without giving everyone an admin account, how can i sort this out?

I removed what I had posted here since it wasn't it.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it.

No, its actually here

Quote:
function themeindex ($aid, $informant, $time, $title, $counter, $topic, $thetext, $notes, $morelink, $topicname, $topicimage, $topictext) {
global $anonymous, $tipath;
if ($notes != "") {
$notes = "

"._NOTE." $notes\n";
} else {
$notes = "";
}
if ("$aid" == "$informant") {
$content = "$thetext$notes\n";
} else {
if($informant != "") {
$content = "<a href=\"modules.php?name=Your_Account&amp;op=userin fo&amp;uname=$informant\">$informant</a> ";
} else {
$content = "$anonymous ";
}
$content .= ""._WRITES." \"$thetext\"$notes\n";
}
$posted = ""._POSTEDBY." ";
$posted .= get_author($aid);
$posted .= " "._ON." $time $timezone ($counter "._READS.")";
$tmpl_file = "themes/subSystem/story_home.html";
$thefile = implode("", file($tmpl_file));
$thefile = addslashes($thefile);
$thefile = "\$r_file=\"".$thefile."\";";
eval($thefile);
print $r_file;
}
Quote:
$content .= ""._WRITES." \"$thetext\"$notes\n";
In front of the \"$thetext\" rests a (i) remove them and its all fine!

All in the theme.php file!

It was in the main theme.php file - seems to work right across the board with any of the themes that i have tried.

So you need to do this for every theme? I'm wondering why this has not been corrected before now. I searched for italics in the forum and no results. :?:

I guess it's just a matter of preference.

Not every theme has the italics built into it, but the majority do.

Definetly prefrence, but in some themes such as charcoal, italics can be very hard to read.

There are a few places in theme.php where the italics are. If you don't want the article submissions, or notes in either place to have italics you need to find and removed those instances as well.
