Linking problem - 12-22-2002, 12:06 AM

Ok, I am new to this stuff and thought I could do something so simple as adding links to blocks but I guess not! What I want to do is have links to other sites in a block but not have the actual link showing but a name instead! This is what I did and I keep getting the module is not active! What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Well this shouldnt make the block not active, but you need to close your center tag and font tag at the bottom. </center></font>
Make sure you activate the block and make viewable to all.

The block says it's active! The links show as they are supposed to and when I click on them they start to take me to the site but then comes back to mine and says the module is not active! I can do this with link images just fine that is why I can't understand why I am having so much trouble with this!

Excuse me I meant to say </font></center>. Is the propper way to close those tags in the right order. It just bugs me to see impropper html, sorry.
Are you saying it says the MODULE not the block isnt active? It should link you out. Have you tried adding target="new"> in your links?

Yea, it says the module is not active! Even when it is on my front page and active it still does not work! Also I will change the tag! And yes, I also tried the target thing also! Same deal!

If you will try it with adding like Winxptheme
It will open a new page and I don's see how you could get any errors. Maybe I have overlooked something and mikem or someone will see this post and help.

Well that did not work either! Is there a certain block I have to use for linking such as this?

You need to create a new block in admin/blocks and just paste in your code in the box, type in a title for it, check make the block active and viewable by all and position. That's all you do. It works for me.

I already tried that to Martin! I just don't get it! Something must be wrong somewhere! I even used the same block that I have the image links in and that did not work! I don't know what else to do! I am getting to many image links and need to make them show as links instead!
