Hi!

I've got a lot of questions listed here and I really appreciate the answers that I get from you, I didn't want to flood this forum with a new topic for each question, so now I'm listing them here, and I hope that you can answer the ones that you know.

1. How can I add a place for a block just below the logo (right above the main page)? And, how can I make so I show more than one banner at the time in the advertisement-block? It shouldn't be possible for the same banner to appear more than once at the time (if there isn't just one banner in the database). I want like 3 banners to show in the same block (don't want different blocks for each of them), below eachother. How do I make this?
   
2. I would like to restrict the surveys with a cookie that stores on the computer so that you only can vote once at each survey.
   
3. I need a good theme for a gaming-portal, especially a BattleField 1942 site, but also Counter-Strike theme etc. anyone that knows any good themes for this?
   
4. My daily stats doesn't work, the total works just fine, but it doesn't write out day-to-day statistics...
   
5. Is it possible to change the name for the adress to the contentsite and the content-id so it can be like modules.php?pagename or something like that instead of modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=X
   
6. Is it possible to do so that the registration and everything else when you are posting reviews etc. doesn't care about hotmail adressess and so on? I want my users to be able to use their own free e-mail adressess...
   
7. In which file can I edit the day-stamps? I've edited the days in some language files, but still under the newsposting, it is written in English. Where can I change this?
   
8. When you post something through the content-manager, I would like to have the option to announce it on the home-page also, and if you then press the "Read more..." button I want that they should get to the contentpage that I posted.
   
9. When I'm posting a article on the home-page, I would like to have a textfield to enter the adress that the "Read more..." link should open and if it should open it in a new window or in the same.
   
10. I want my newsscript to automatically add smileys (pictures) when I write something like ;) or :) in my message, the pictures is in the /images/smileys folder.
    
11. How do I fix the pages that doesn't display the right blocks? I want the right blocks to be displayed at all pages (not the forum, but all the others). Also, all the articles that has been written through the content-area, I wan't to be able to vote for them like you can do for news.

Well, my English is far from perfect, but I'm really trying. :)

Read these posts carefully and you will learn all you need to know about question #11. :!:

1: You need to know basic HTML. See this post for a reference.

2: Surveys are stored and recorded by IP. I don't think a cookie is involved. But I could be wrong.
3: Start browsing the web. There are a ton of themes available out there. Search, Search, Search.
4: When you go to Statistics, try clicking the link there that says [ View Detailed Statistics ]
5: No. Use Post Nuke or an older version of Php-Nuke if you want that feature. You will lose more than you will gain. That's just plain silly. Why would anyone care what that link is?
6: I've never seen anyone have a problem using a hotmail or yahoo or any other "free" email address when signing up on a Nuke site.
7: Try looking in your theme.php file in your themes/DefaultTheme folder.
8: Just post a link in a New Homepage article about the new content page and place a link in the news article. The readme link and what you are asking would require some serious code change which you will have to learn for yourself.
9: Sounds like this question stems from #8. Again, Code change. Learn PHP.
10: Code change. There may be a hack out there somewhere that someone has made.

Sounds like you have a great ambition to learn. However, most of your questions are things you can learn on your own. It would take too much time to properly explain everything about Nuke. Learn by trial and error. Don't expect your website to be exactly like you want it to be in just a few weeks. A good webdesigner is never satisfied with his website, :wink: however he also knows when a website is good and done right.
Try things out for yourself. Search the web.

Well, I know basic HTML, but I thought that I want to make it possible to put blocks in that block through the adminpanel, and I don't know how to do that though. About the stats-thing, I know the link, the thing is that it doesn't register the days in some strange way, it only registers total count and todays count. Nothing else. And about that thing with the date in the theme.php, I've checked that one, and it never defines the variables that it's using, so I though they maybe gets defined in some other file?

As far as the stats go, the only fix I've seen (and I had to use it here once so it works), is to clear the stats_year table.

For the timestamps, the "News" module has its own lang dir, take a look in there.

Actually, after I did that with the stats_year table, it works... Thanks!

About the lang-file in the news module, I've already checked that one out, and there is no settings for the days in that one...
