Logo distorted in certain themes - 02-13-2003, 04:23 PM

Hi all,

I have installed several new themes on my site. The problem is that with the subblack and fiapple themes. In those themes my logo is distorted, it is holding the dimensions of the default logo that was there before. It looks quite bad. Any fixes for this? Or should I just get a smaller logo?

you can edit either the theme.php or header.html files and adjust the dimensions of your logo. just go to Function themeheader() in your theme.php, it has all of your header info there (this is if there is no header.html info within the theme package, im not sure about fiapple and subblack)

Hi say the theme you was using is subblack then look in htdocs\themes\subBlack and open header.html then you can change it their so the image looks right and any other chanes you want. Works fine for me.
edit ReNeGaDe's reply is better

I'm not sure it will work but you could try changing this line
Code:
 <td>[img]themes/fiapple/images/logo.gif[/img]
in your fiapple header.html to reflect the dimensions of your logo.

Do the same for this line in subBlack header.html
Code:
 <td width="300">[img]themes/subBlack/images/logo.gif[/img]</td>
Just remember to keep make a backup

I actually removed that log fixed width and height in most of our theme packs.

The best way to make your logo fit the way you want it to is to not have ANY width or height specified in the above lines that IACOJ gave you. Let your logo's dimensions work for itself.

Like so:

Code:
<td>[img]themes/fiapple/images/logo.gif[/img]
Code:
<td>[img]themes/subBlack/images/logo.gif[/img]</td>

Tried this .. - 03-15-2003, 06:43 AM

Hiya - thanks for running such a great set of forums

Recently I installed the smartdark themepack and I wish to mess around with the logo

By removing the height / width from the header HTML I find that the page layout falls to pieces ie centre blocks are placed under the left blocks and the same happens for the right blocks.

I would like to try and install a 750 * 100 image in the logo position.

Any help / suggestions appreciated.

If you are simply removing the height and width varibales from the <img src line for th elogo in the header.html, then yo should not have problems.
If your theme goes "crazy" after you modify that file, more than likely it is because you are using a HTML editor, like Dreamweaver or Front page. Don't.

Use Notepad. and manually erase those variables.

All the html in our themes are full of unclosed html tags that carry to the next html part that is called. Dreamweaver and other html editing programs don't know this and they automatically close those tags..this is not good.

Thanks - I'd been using Dreamweaver to do this.

Followed your advice and the HTML now works perfectly

Thank you very much and again thanks for running such a great site
