MIke I need help! - 01-05-2003, 02:11 PM

Hey Mike are you there?

I have the phpnuke ver6 up and running. I have uploaded the new version of phpbb ver 2.06 and uploaded all files necessary to each folder. When I go to the admin section and click on forums I can add a forum just fine however when on I click on the forum link on the left tool bar under the hone section it tells me "sorry, file doesn't exist" It is there. All is chmoded fine. Can you enlighten me

http://www.jsm-inc.com/phpnuke/html/

I have activated the modules Forums already too.

Also I did not get the set up screen in the database section?? could this be the issue.
Thanks

JM

Sounds like a path incorrect problem. What Theme/template are you using?

Are you saying you clikc the link to return to your Forums from the Admin?

I need to see your index_navigate.tpl file in your
modules/Forums/templates/CurrentTempalte/admin

you can email it to me at

spam@fauxpas.org

OK Mikem I am rolling now - 01-05-2003, 07:17 PM

I managed to get all installed one more time and placed the subblack module and theme in its respective files and folders. It seems to work OK now. Now the question is I want to make sub black the theme for the site and override any other use of other themes without deleting all my stored themes.

Can I do that

JM

Yes, first in your Nuke Admin preferences, Make subBlack your Default theme.
Then in Forum Admin Configuraiton. Make subBlack your defautl template.

Remove all other themes from your themes folder on your FTP and no one can change then.

I sorta understand - 01-05-2003, 07:38 PM

OK I have sub black showing up no problem. When I am in admin I click on forums in the center window of icon. It takes me to a page that has preferences on top along with, users, rank, etc. When I click on preferences it does not allow me to select sub black as a theme, it does not even show up.

IS this the right place??

JM

OK..Did you get subBlack set as your Default under NUKE ADMIN preferences?

Did you ADD the subBlack forum template to your Forum administration, under Styles/Add?

To get to the Forum admin, go to the Forums, at the bottom is an Admin link(you must be logged in as you ruser you gave Forum admin access to during the Forum install)
Go into the FOrum admin..on the left it says Configuration. Under there is where you can set the Default template.
Also on the left is Styles/Add. You need to add that template.

Bottom line is, The Nuke default theme and Forums default template have to match under both Admin areas, Forum and Nuke.

I do understand the part about the foruma nd nuke matching. However I am unable to get the styles add to show. On the admin section it simply reads...

Administration

· Administration
· NEW Story
· Change Survey
· Content
· Logout
This is weird as I remember getting the styles add in the last upload I did. Somewhere I am loosing something. I am showing subBlack on my home/prefs to choose from but it will not change. An as you can see from the admin section I pasted you can't even get to the section of styles and adding them.

Confused now eh?

JM

Cant seem to get my avatar packs to propogate either. I have placed them in the same folder with the stock ones and have created separate folders for each?

JM

And the system will not log me out. It says I am logged out however when I hit home or my account after logging out it takes me back. Even when I clear cache and reboot.??

OK you are WAY OFF.

Do you even know how to get to your Forums Admin page?
IT IS NOT in the Admin links block.

I explained it clearly above in my post.

GO TO your FORUMS PAGE
There is a link at the bottom of the page you should see that says "Go to Administration Panel"
Click it.

ON the left payne is a link under the Styles heading that says ADD.
If you have put the template folder for your Forum template in your modules/Forums/templates/
then that template will show up on that list. You will need to click ADD next to it's name

And I almost 100% certain that your logout problem is related to NOT uploading ALL the files that came with the phpBB port.
