1) Can i use the original phpbb2 forums with phpnuke ? If so how ? Also, i want the forum to take up the ENTIRE page. How do i do this ?

You can use standalone forums using an iframe but then your users would have two seperate logins. Also all the themes that are featured on this site are made to interact between nuke and phpbb to make them look seemless. With standalone you would have to download a standalone phpbb theme and hope you can find a nuke theme that is close to matching or that look ok together.

2) Can someone please give me step by step :P instructions on how to install that recent 5 posts mod on the front page.
|
That is the last 5 forum center block and can be downloaded at
Anors Corner In the zip should be a text file with detailed step by step instructions. However for it to work properly you would not be able to use standalone phpbb without a lot of coding. That block is designed for the bbtonuke port

3) Is there a fiapple theme for phpbb2 alone ?
|
Probably, any theme with fi in the title was made by
Forum images. Go check there for a selection of standalone phpbb stuff

4) What is bbtonuke , ported PHPBB2 blah blah stuff ? :?
|
As mentioned above it is just a version of phpbb that has been modified so that it shares resources within nuke. This way you get a shared login and many other benefits some of which were mentioned in the above question.

5) Isn't it better to use a seperate standalone phpbb2 forum rather than the one that comes with phpnuke ? Latest bug fixes ...
|
With the newest version of nuke (6.5) the team at
NukeCops have already ported the latest version of phpbb. I think it is safe to say with the number of members in the nuke community that the ported version will never be too far behind any security fixes and what not released over at phpbb.com.

BTW i am using the phpnuke 6 with fiapple theme.

Steve
EDIT : I want the forums to appear like on this site.....
|
This is site is using Nuke 6.0 with the 2.0.6 forum port. You would have to use the port to get your forums to work like these. Then there are a few tweaks involved such as the forum registration code changes and what not. It wouldn;t be as easy as setting up standalone phpbb but in the end it makes for a much easier and more pleasant experience for your members.
Hope that helps!
