Need to get rid of search feature - 11-11-2002, 09:53 PM

Ok i am trying to use a theme from this site called darkside, but unfortuntely it has a search feature to the right of the logo spot, when i use my logo it stretches the page out to far. Is there a easy way to remove this this extra search box?? I can still use my search in the blocks, but would like to remove this one, so my page is uniform through out the site.. Thanks

in the themes folder there is often a header template. Try to edit this.

That is it , thanks so much...............by the way the theme is Awesome just what i have been looking for. Oops one more thing, hopefully i wont wear out my welcome, everything centers perfectly except for my banner its still aligned to the far left, is this normal? I run my comp in excess of 800x600 so i have a big gap to the right of the banner.

Just look in your theme.php file for something similar to this
Code:
        ."<td>\n"
        ."<a href=\"index.php\"><img src=\"themes/Reverie/images/logo.gif\" align=\"left\" alt=\""._WELCOMETO." $sitename\" border=\"0\"></a></td>\n"
logo.gif, that is your image.

Now you just need to add <center> tags to either end, like this.
Code:
        ."<center><td>\n"
        ."<a href=\"index.php\"><img src=\"themes/Reverie/images/logo.gif\" align=\"left\" alt=\""._WELCOMETO." $sitename\" border=\"0\"></a></td></center>\n"
Make sure when you make any changes to ANY files, that you back up the original before you replace it on your serer with your modified one.

Upload the theme.php from my link again, then In the function themeheader portion:

Find
Code:
."<a href=\"index.php\"><img src=\"".$logofile."\" Alt=\""._WELCOMETO." $sitename\" border=\"0\"></a>"
Replace with:
Code:
."<a href=\"index.php\"><center><img src=\"".$logofile."\" Alt=\""._WELCOMETO." $sitename\" border=\"0\"></center></a>"
