Old phpBB 2.0.3 to be imported into a new NUKE 6 instalation - 01-19-2003, 01:54 PM

Hi,

I'm using phpBB 2.0.3 for about 2 months and i want to build a new site with NUKE 6.0 (is this the latest version?) and keep my phpBB forums, posts, members etc.

How can i import my phpBB 2.0.3 into NUKE 6?
Also i want a user to have same account to nuke and to phpBB withh the one login process.

Your best bet is to Start here
http://phpnuke.org

then here
http://bbtonuke.sourceforge.net

Basically you would need to get Nuke setup and running First. Then install the PORTED version of PHPBB, then import your original phpBB data into the new ported version of phpBB that is running within your PHP-Nuke.

Nuke can be found at the first link and the ported phpBB forum and importers can be found at the second link.

Many thanks mikem...

I found about Nuke from http://bbtonuke.sourceforge.net/ wich has 2.0.6 bbtonuke release into the full release of Nuke 6.5.

This can be a better solution even 6.5 is beta!?
Or is better to use 6.0 and the solution given by you already?

It's up to you. As it is now, Nuke 6.0 with phpBB ported Forums has an import script you can use to import from an existing phpBB.

However, Nuke6.5 at this time in the beta has no such import or Upgrade script available. And it has not been released yet. Still testing. It will remain to be seen whether an upgrade or import script will be made for the 6.5 version.

The importer script isn't included with the port, it is a seperate download, but is still available on bbtonuke.

If the script stops running, without giving an error you need to check the information in your db for that user. Some use characters that confuse the script like ' and " if you remove those the script should run.
