PHP-Nuke with phpBB ported forums..slow down under load?
Hey..I have a question. 8O
yes..it's true

OK. recently they took down the Forums over at http://phpnuke.org
Why?
Because the load was slowing the site to a stand-still...literally!(sp)

This was apparenlty due to the load on the _users table in the MySQL database.
FB is investigating it now and took down the Forums until he finds a solution, I've heard.

Now, has anyone HERE, or know of anyone running THIS version we run at nukemods.com, Nuke 6.0 and phpBB port 2.0.6, ever experienced any major slow downs when a lot of users are logged into your site?

The apparent load problem in the 6.5 beta version of Nuke is when you have approximately 40 or more registered logged in users on the site.

I'm wondering if the version we run, which is slightly different than the upcoming version, experiences the same problem. If not, then FB needs to be made aware. If so, then maybe some input on a solution is needed?

just some food for thought...umm..for anyone that followed me on that :?

footnote:
Nuke 6.5 has the phpBB forums already integrated. We've been testing the beta versions.

It allways nice to know what is happening

FB just should have told that on phpbb.org. I was really suprised, when getting there and didn't found any Forums. No explanations given. They were just gone. How many extra PMs and e-mails FB got about this? He surely not had the time to answer them all

From phpBB2 support forums, I know that phpBB2 has some problems with sessions. Good explanation (even I understood some of it ops: ) can be found here http://bfl.rctek.com/guide.php?id=2

As said, I really didn't understand it all so can't know, if this has anything to do with the problem

any and all existing themes and templates that are used for the current versions of nuke and phpBB will need to be re-worked in order to be compatible with Nuke 6.5

ok this is a very old thread, but the onlyone i could find on the topic.

i experience the same problem, the site realy slows down big time when there are many users online.
i have a site where constantly 100+ members are online and the site gets realy slow. i tried to find speed tweaks, but all links in forums on this subject are death.

we use php-nuke version 7.3 with most users use the helius theme.

on the server i see alot of request on pictures, one way or the other they don't get cached when using php-nuke.

Can anyone help to increase a phpnukes performance?
