no i recommend you just convert your phpBB forum to phpBBnuke using the phpBB2nuke script. you can most likely find it somewhere at nukeresources.com or any other nuke file distribution center.

not even if I back up the db and restore it to nuke and upload all my files. I dont want my members and post to be gone.

Yes you can do it, it will take some work. You already have stand alone phpbb 2.0.4 you need to convert it to bbtonuke and then import that nuke 6.5.

The problem is this, unless someone has come up with something really creative as far as I know there is no importing script that goes directly from phpbb to nuke 6.5.

You can check bbtonuke for the importer script that you will need for one part of it. I'll see if I can find out if you have to install 6.0 first.

Don't do anything with it just yet. Make sure you read all the txt files readme etc in the import documents. Be sure to back up first.

Ok that script is to convert and import the stand alone into nuke 6 and toms port. I don't know if it works with 6.5 thats why I said don't do anything yet. I'm still trying to check to see if anyone has successfully used it to import phpbb 2.0.4 into Nuke 6.5. I think you'll need to convert to the ported vs first, but if you want to try it without doing that you can. Make a back up of EVERYTHING, and understand that I don't know if it will work or not.

You can try it, but there is no guarantee that it will work. There have been sql modifications between 6 and 6.5, I don't recall off hand if any of the table names changed or not.

IF you decide to run the script AND it stops running at a specific user name. Go into your table through phpmyadmin and remove all instances of " ' / the punctuation confuses the script. Check the table for their profile. Then try to run it again.

I would still wait before running it. I don't have the slightest idea what it will do.

You aren't trying to import this information from your regular site to a subdomain are you? I don't think that will work, unless the your user and db prefixes are the same.

I'm looking into this script to see if I can get it ported to import from phpbb2.0.4 and 2.0.5 to phpnuke 6.5 (I have done all modifications I think, but having troubles with the server now so I can't test it)
