Phpnuke 6.5 and phpBB 2.03, upgrading to 2.04/2.06/2.1
Well let me start this rant with a bit of background.

I had 6.0 & 2.06 working well with the registration hack and all. I really liked the setup but I also had to have 6.5.

Now I have that up and running as I understand it I also have a 2.03 version of phpBB. a sniplet of Nuke Cops Analyze.php script indicates I have a ported version of 2.03.

Code:
phpBB2 Port Values for RootGap Security Group
Theme ID Style Name Template Name Version
      1 subSilver subSilver 2.0.3

PHP-Nuke Values for RootGap Security Group
Default_Theme Version Locale Language
smartDark 6.5 en_US english
The analyize script also tells me I need to upgrade to 2.04 due to security problems.

As you can see above I'm using nukemods smartDark theme and would
like to continue to do so.

I want/need to upgrade and was looking at nukecops nukephpBB 2.1 rather than upgrading to 2.04, I'm not certain if I can use smartDark with 2.04 version but I'm fairly confident I can use 2.1 successfully.

Question 1 - Should I upgrade to Nuke Cops nukephpBB 2.1 integrated or should it be 2.04 or 2.06 or Nuke Cops nukephpBB 6.5 plus non-integrated. There are so many versions I confused....

I want to use Nuke 6.5 and the smartDark theme with the Latest "Secure" version of phpbb. I'd like to use the phpbb registration and have the avatar selections in phpbb available. What should I do?

Question 2 - As in the code box above the ported version of phpbb I'm currently running has the subsilver theme in use and is shown when I go to the phpbb admin functions. I can't select smartDark as my phpbb theme, its not available for selection, I only have subsilver and subblack. In phpnuke I have lots of themes available including sub silver. The subsilver theme appears to have an admin folder section as the others do not. Is this why I can't select smartDark as my phpbb theme from inside the admin portion of phpbb. However my forums show the smartDark when forums are selected from my website.

Any commentary your guys/gals can provide in understanding how all these ported/integrated/non-integrated themes work would be greatly appreciated.

PHP-Nuke 6.5 ships with bbtonuke 2.1 or phpBB 2.0.4, not sure how you upgraded as nuke's upgrade file does not contemplate upgrading 6.0 when one has Tom's 2.0.6 port and it also fails to update bbtonuke's version in the bbconfig table so just edit the version number in this table to .0.4 and that should take care of that analyzer error.

I dl my copy of 6.5 several weeks ago and used your copy of
nukebbsql.zip to update my ported 2.06 versions to the what I thought was the latest 2.1 version....

Everything seems to works ok except I'm not sure what version I really have and I can't get the registration and avatar setup in the your_account section to work.

Would you recommend that I go ahead recopy all the files from the NukeCops 2.1 "integrated" version over the files I have on my server to ensure I have all the right stuff, could this possibly solve my registration whoa's?

Try using only the usercp_register.php and usercp_avatar.php files

i have phpBB 2.0.3 Version 2.0.6 of PHP-Nuke Port by Tom Nitzschner integrated into nuke 6.0 .
and the analyze.php says i have to upgrade it to 2.0.4 .
i went to phpbb.com and dl the 2.0.3_to_2.0.4 files..overwritten and i got 3 small errors.

Warning: Failed opening './extension.inc' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/dataklubben/appolyon/html/21pzr/modules/Forums/index.php on line 25

Warning: Failed opening './common.' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/dataklubben/appolyon/html/21pzr/modules/Forums/index.php on line 26

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: session_pagestart() in /home/dataklubben/appolyon/html/21pzr/modules/Forums/index.php on line 31

ofcouse i put back my old files...and now i'm asking what should i do?
what should i dl and from where to upgrade my phpbb to 2.0.4 ?

I don't think Zhen has made any recent updates to analyzer so my guess is it won't detect the old news module.

smartDark Template?
I've installed the smartDark theme for 6.5 in /themes/smartDark/ directory. Everything appears to work ok. When I go into the forum admin I get the default subSilver admin screen. I'm unable to select/add smartDark from the Styles Admin menu. It also appears that some of my forum admin configuration items aren't working correctly such as the avatars.

Can anybody shed some light on how to fix this or help me understand what's going on?

Ok hold up everyone :-)

1. When you all upgraded, more than likely the upgrade script did not change the version number of your phpBB in the database, BECAUSE it was missing from the script up until a week or so ago and as chatserv said it sometimes fails to write the version number for the BB.
If you have the FILES from Nuke6.5 Final release, then you are using phpBB2.0.4 which is port2.1 from nukecops.

2. Kelu you should not use the phpBB from phpbb.com, it is not compatible with nuke. The phpBB forums have been MODIFIED to work with Nuke by FB.

3. cy4lock The themes for Nuke6.5 do not include a template for the forums for the Admin. If you HAVE to have a template for your ADMIN in the Forums. Then you can use one from the Nuke6.0 theme packs. You will have to ADD it under your Forum Admin Styles ADD in order to select it as your default theme. I don't advise this at all though.
subSilver should be your default Forum template for your Admin in Nuke6.5 only...and could you elaborate on the avatar problem?
