related links block..need to get rid of - 07-11-2003, 10:30 PM

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help. When I post a story with thumbnail images in it and wnen you click on them they link to a larger image either through opening a new page with the image on it or through a java script that pops up the new image, the images are all in the related links block on that story page.

Is there any way that I can:
A. remove the related links block from the story's page
B. some how make images not show up in the related links block.

Thanks for everyones help (again ops: )

Instead of making the image clickable, put a subtext in your article that says "click here for full image" That will still show up in the related links block but the image itself wont.

Thanks for the suggestion,

In this particular story, there are 13 images, so I would have 13 "click here for full image" links in the related links block. I could however make the subtext say "full image 1", "full image 2" and so on...then at least it would be a quick index for anyone who just wanted to see the images.

I would like to make the images clickable, but if I cant, that is the method I will use.

Great idea!! Thanks

Any other suggestions, anybody?

To remove the block I believe the section that you would want to comment out would be "more_link" in the news index. I'm not sure if it appears in other places or not, you'd have to do a search.

I'm also not sure what it would do to your site if you comment out those lines, but you could try it.

Just make sure that you have a backup set without the comments, in the event it freezes your site up or something.
