this probably means that your avatar directory isnt CHMOD'ed correctly. i believe its 777..dont quote me on that though. if that doesnt work, make sure the files that have to do with avatars/profile (i.e. usercp_avatar.php) are also CHMOD'ed correct.

That is the correct answer, to allow users to upload their avatars you need to give them write access to that folder.

I access the Forum configuration and map to the upload folder . The forum default does not have the map to upload folder .

Anonther question . Is there a way to disable USERs change their skin style ???

There are two ways to do this. The easiest is to only have the theme you want used, in the theme dir. Or you can use Bob's "Your Account tweak" which will disable theme switching.
