I've spent soo much time making my site look cool, the only problem is that nobody goes to the site.... I made it for a band made up of my good buds... Anyway, you guys tell me what you think

Any good, or the time being wasted?

Well, I'll be a critic here I guess. When I think music site, I don't think "Web portal PHP-Nuke system."

I expect a band site to have content, but they are usually more flashy and compact.

So, since you guys are going for content....where is it?

Meet the band? All I see are pics of the band. Who sings or plays the guitar?

Any info on the band? Where are they playing?

Any audio clips of their music? What genre of music?

A lot of missing info there.

Rider has some good advice as does Martin.
You really need to get some good content and get that site on some search engines. It takes time to get a site going. You can't expect it to boom over night...be patient and don't get discouraged

Hey Christian,
I agree with everything said above. I have some suggestions and have listed them below.

Link, Link, Link: Swap links with anyone and everyone who has a site with content similar to yours (very important). I don’t mean banner exchanges. I mean real sites. Do a search on Google and email the webmasters. Be friendly and don’t use form emails. Build relationships on the web. Google lists sites based on the amount of links back to your site based on “search words”.

Become a Pimp: That’s right sell your site every chance you get. Don’t spam, have something of interest (good content) forward a link to everyone in your address book. You would be surprised how fast things get forwarded around the net.

Search Engines: Submit your pages to all the search engines. Read the fine print! You would be surprised how easy it is to get banned from a search engine for duplicate submissions.

The Media: Call in to radio talk stations and become a part of the conversation. Then ask if you can plug your site. You would be surprised how many hits they can bring.

It will take awhile but don’t give up. That should be a good place to start. Good luck!
