Hi i am new at website making and i need some help:
Firstly i chose phpnuke because i know someone who uses it for a website and it looks top just incase anyone wants a peek click here
Do i need to buy anything or something?
Can anyone give me a bit of help on starting/know a tutorial for it?
Once i have made it where can i host it?
Thanks Verymuch

What I did is get a static IP address at http://www.no-ip.com so I could use my home computer with cable internet to host myself. It's FREE!!! (cable not free) Just sine up log in and name yourself. Every time you connect to the internet you hace the same IP address automatically. No-ip is not the only free service out there so you can search around. Or you can pay someone to use thier service and have to use ftp to edit your site.
Oh by the way welcome to nukemods! Your site looks nice and a real clean look!

Ah yes, you're friend's site looks very good! Adding on to Martin's post. If you go to 3DBuzz, they have a good video tutorial on how to setup your home computer as a web server. Go there, sign up...then click here. Download the first three tuts, and you're set. Its a good way to test your scripts w/o having to go thru the hassles of FTPing it up to your host EVERY SINGLE TIME.

PHP-Nuke is Free. BBtoNuke (the mod that integrates PHP-Nuke with PHPbb) is free. And best of all, the fabulous themes that NukeMods makes, are free. Good luck, and I hope Martin and I answered your questions well enough.

Bah...no pain..don't worry about it..we've all been there and anyone that tells you different is lying..hehe

Look up above at Bullwinkles post. Follow the first link he posted and sign up for an Account on that site. Once you do that, follow the SECOND link he posted and download the Tutorials on how to setup a server on your home PC.

oh and you don't have to tell us you are a noob, we can see it plainly below your name in your posts..see NM NOOB...lol..just kidding :-)

This is just a suggestion. You can download this from my site. It will install everything you need to make a php-nuke site on your home computer. The only drawback is it installs php-nuke 5.6 but at least you will have an instant site. You can upgrade nuke later. If you can make it thruogh the installation. I'm sure you will have many questions and don't get discouraged. Just take your time. Click [HERE]

You will need to go to no-ip.com first, like I said before before you install it!

does no-ip.com have some added security benefits such as ip cloaking?
