You are accessing Restricted area - upon registration
Ok, I have discovered a slight problem to my site. New Users get the error above when they try to register. I think I might know what the problem is, but I don't know how to work around it and still maintain the same sort of settings I have now.

The your account module is set to everyone, forums are set to registered (which is where I think the problem is) Registration is set to admin activate, all forums with the execption of a section for the mods are read/post for all registered users. I have the last 5 post block.

The way it currently is, if you aren't registered and logged in you can't access the forums, and registration requires admin approval. I would like to keep it that way.

My problem is IF I change back the forum module to all users, everyone can get in there, If I change the permissions on the forums themselves to registered for read and post instead of all. Then they don't show up in the last 5 post block.

Is there a way to fix this?

Edit:I'm using Nuke 6 phpbb2.0.6 and the forum reg hack

I think that's going to be a problem with the user Activation and having restricted access to your Forums.

Nuke will override your Forums.

You have the Forum set to registered users only. So if a user signs up, the redirect at the end of sign up takes them to the Forum index, BUT they caqn't get to the Forum index because they have not yet been activated and are not yet fully registered.

Need to figure out where that redirect at the end of registereing is generated. Maybe if you can find that and change it to take them to the Home main Nuke page...?

The error comes as soon as they click on a link to register, I think it is because the forum is set to registered users only, and I use the forum reg hack.

I was hoping that maybe there was a way to allow them into the profile to register, but still restrict the forum until they are activated.

Is this what you are talking about? In modules/forum/login.php

Code:
 Header("Location: modules.php?name=Your_Account&redirect=$forward_page");
Or am I looking in completely the wrong place?

Nah..I thiknk you post before is right on

I don't think you can use the Hack if you Don't let your Unregistered users at LEAST View the Forums.

Try that.
Set all Forums Permissions Under VIEW to ALL. They still won't be able to read any topics, they will only be able to VIEW the Forums.
And also make sure in Nuke Admin/modules, that Forums is set to ALL USERS. Once in the Forum, unregistered users will be under the Forum control and will only be able to VIEW the Forums.

I tried setting the forum permission to view-all and read-reg and nothing shows up in the last 5 forum posts block. It did fix the registration problem though I have removed the block.

If anyone happens to know what needs to be edited in the block so it will display the posts, but only allow registered users to view the actual posts I would be extremely happy.

Not possible.
The Nuke side doe snot recognize whether a user has permissions to view a certain Forum or not. It would take some serious coding changes for Nuke to recognize that variable in the Database.

Do you think that will be fixed in 6.5 because the two are being integraded?
