1) youre probably logged into the administration, but not the website. they are 2 different accounts. when you first install you have a choice of creating a super user AND a regular account with the same details etc.

2) head on over to http://bbtonuke.sourceforge.net and get tom's phpBB port.

3) they are only showing up because youre an admin. it will not show inactive module links to normal users. youll see that by logging out of adminstration (which is also a block).

that should clear things up a bit

IF you still have Splatt forums on there, you don't have the forums set up. These themes do not work with splatt.

IF what you have done is installed Nuke, and it is now working, you have to port it. The files telling you how to do that are in the phpbb port files. Read ALL the readme, install, and upgrade txt files.

Did you clear you cookies? Once you are signed in you have to sign out. If there are no mods on Nuke that means you have to sign out through My Account.

To get rid of the message to create a super user you can either click the link that says [edit] or you can go into your admin cp and click the icon that says messages, to edit whats there.

If dont want the links to show for the modules you aren't using then deativate them.

okay so i install the porter thing which is off of bbtonuke.sourceforge.net?

there are 2 Importers... which one do i download the first or second? i am guessing the 2nd one because it say "Upgrade existing PHP-Nuke forums to bbtonuke" -> is that correct one to download?

ut oh... there are 0 members and i still can view the admin panel. and i says incorrect password when i try and log in as my not admin name or whatever...

Ian

Before you try to import anything you want to save what you have, so backup your database. Have you already installed the port itself? The importer is a seperate set of scripts designed to import your db info. Did you happen to check in the Nuke SQL to see if Categories is spelt properly in all occurences. I reported it to FB, but I'm not sure if the files were updated there or not If it isn't spelt correctly you will have to fix it, otherwise you will get an sql error.

I would suggest doing a search over at bbtonuke in the forums for importers, because LOTS of people had trouble importing their exsisting database info. There is a link on one of the forums over there, that has an importing script that runs without much difficulty. Once again, I'm not sure if the downloads section was updated over there to include that importer or not.

If you have questions regarding the importer, how to use it, mod the required files etc, it's better to pose your questions about it over there. The importer DOES NOT import your permissions, moderators etc. Only post and user info. You will have to reconfig your new board accordingly.

Open the readme with something else, you are probably using like notepad and don't have the option of configuing wordwrap. Try opening that same readme.txt in wordpad instead.

thank you so much!

now is this the right php nuke porter thing:

Code:
HOWTO: Upgrade from Nuke's phpBB 1.4.x to phpBBmodule's phpbb2

REQUIREMENTS:
	i. A fully functional PHP-Nuke 5.5 site with the default phpbb 1.4 forums
	       running without any errors.
	ii. MySQL database backend.
iii. You have already copied all files in the bbtonuke distribution to
	       the appropriate places.
iv. Ability to make a database dump and restoration, if needed.
	v. Will power to continue ;)

UPGRADE PROCEDURE:
1) Make an entire Database and Schema backup of your entire existing php-nuke database
   before proceeding!

I warned you, so don't blame me if your database implodes and you lost everything.

With that said, it shouldn't happen, but it is better safe than sorry ;)

2) Copy all bbtonuke distribution files into the appropriate places.
DO NOT RUN ANY SQL FILES!!

3) Upload this directory and all files within to your webserver into the same root
directory that php-nuke is installed and point your browser to the included
   upgrade.php
	ie. http://www.yoursite.com/upgradeNukephpBBmodule/upgrade.php

4) Follow the steps one by one, and if all goes well in a few moments your newly
upgraded php-nuke forums will be operational.

If you notice any errors please don't disregard and keep on going and expect
   it to work correctly.

Please hop onto the bbtonuke.sourceforge.net forum and report any errors
that you encounter. I will check it frequently. Any bug reports will be noticed
and dealt with as soon as possible.

5) Once complete check your PHP-Nuke preferences in the Administration screen.

6) Activate the new module 'Forums' (notice the 's'), and deactivate the old 'Forum'.

7) Upon entering the Forums for the first time you will be prompted for the site name
   and to choose an administrator.

NOTE: You may need to delete your internet cookies if you have troubles entering
   the administration panel.

8) Enter the forum administration panel (link near the bottom of the forum page).
Enter the General Configuration and update/correct any/all settings.
Pay close attention to the domain name, server port (enter your server port number,
usually 80, if empty), and the Script path (enter /modules/Forums/ if empty).

-copland007

KNOWN PROBLEMS:
* As of rel-0.1 *
-Some default configuration variables and values are not getting inserted into
the new nuke_config table during the upgrade process.
WORKAROUND: Check your Forum configuration as soon as your are finished
with the upgrade procedure and fill in any missing or incorrect
			    information.

	-Usergroups may not get created.
		WORKAROUND: Create them again :)

HISTORY:
* rel-0.1 * Initial BETA release.
* rel-0.2 * First public release.
	- Fixed rank images not getting imported
	- Fixed admin status getting lost in the import
i will ask that question again... Is that the right porting nuKe?
